Dr. Prakash Chandra Rout is a seasoned tourism and hospitality academician and professional with over ten years of experience (teaching, research and industry). Prior to his joining at the PSS Central Institute of Vocational Education, Bhopal, he was working with the Ministry of Education, Ethiopia, East Africa. Dr. Prakash has worked with international and national organizations like, the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), Kathmandu, Nepal and G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan, Environment, Gangtok, Sikkim, India. He was associated with two international developmental projects namely, the Kailash Sacred Landscape Conservation and Development Initiative (KSLCDI) and the Kangchenjunga Landscape Conservation and Development Initiative (KLCDI). He has extensively worked in the Himalayan Landscape over six years in the areas of community based ecotourism, tourism value chains and nature conservation. Dr. Prakash contributed to the key policy document ‘Sustainable Tourism in the Indian Himalayan Region’ published by Niti Aaayog, India. Competent in the field of sustainable tourism development, tourism and hospitality market research, ecotourism and value chain based education and research. Ability to provide training and capacity building support to teams within the framework of tourism, hospitality, livelihood and vocational programs.
