The Department of Home Science and Hospitality Management conducted a five-day Working Group Meeting to develop the curriculum and textbooks for Bamboo Product Artisans from  9 to 13 September 2024 at the PSS Central Institute of Vocational Education (PSSCIVE) in Bhopal. The meeting was organized with experts, industry representatives and artisans. Bamboo product artisans were also invited to contribute to the development of course materials through practical hands-on training, which was documented for the course development. Digital resources for bamboo work were also created during the working group meeting.The bamboo product artisans who participated in the meeting were invited from Chhatarpur, Betul, and Bhopal; one of the artisans was an awardee at the state level. During this five-day meeting, the artisans created various products, including home décor and utility items, as well as fashion accessories such as tea mugs, trays, decorative birds, turtles, mobile stands, visiting card holders, pen holders, mobile amplifiers and jewellery etc. During her visit to PSSCIVE Ms. Archana Sharma Awasthi, Joint Secretary at the Department of Adult Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Govt of India also met with the artisans and appreciated their work of bamboo craft. She emphasized that this area is crucial for vocational education.
